Types of Delegates: Individuals who are pledged delegates are "pledged" to support the candidate to whom they are allocated in a state primary or caucus. Unpledged delegates, often referred to as "superdelegates," are automatic delegates to the convention and are not required to pledge their support to a presidential candidate.
Proportional: State will proportionally allocate delegates based either on the statewide primary/caucus vote or on the combination of the statewide and congressional district votes.
Proportional with WTA Trigger: State will follow above proportional rules but allow for a winner-take-all allocation if a candidate wins a majority of the vote statewide or at the congressional district level.
